The Zen Swaddle™ is the only infant swaddle blanket to mimic your touch. Touch or simulated touch is medically proven to soothe babies as it triggers a self soothing response and improves the ability of infants to regulate stress. This blanket is unique, and I had to try it out for my newest little guy.
Once I did a little more research and read what the Zen Swaddle really is, I was intrigued. When I was contacted by Nested Bean, to try out their Zen Swaddle Blanket, I figured it was just another swaddling blanket like all the others out there. Baby gets loose, their arms get free, or the swaddle just isn’t tight enough to prevent the startle reflex that wakes baby up. While this is true for me, I do realize that for some parents a good swaddle blanket can be their best friend since they can’t get a good tight swaddle with a simple blanket. I’ve spoken before on my love of swaddling, and I mention often that I don’t think that specialized swaddle blankets are necessary. The Zen Swaddle is lightweight, super soft to the touch, and made of 100% cotton for a more breathable fabric that maximizes your baby’s comfort and relaxation. One of the great features of the Zen Swaddle is that it helps babies sleep through their startle reflex so he or she doesn’t awaken in fear. These super cool swaddling blankets designed to mimic your touch yet let you fold the swaddler in the appropriate manner so your baby gets the comfort yet isn’t constricted or positioned incorrectly. That’s what makes the Zen Swaddle from Nested Bean SO awesome.
That’s definitely NOT something you want for your baby, right? And, if you’re not careful, you could be doing it all wrong anyway which can cause hip displacement or deformities. If you’ve ever had a baby you already know that the hospital’s nursery wraps your baby in a swaddled fashion using a receiving blanket but once you get home and try to recreate that, it’s nearly impossible to get it THAT tucked and snug. Parents, on the other hand, get a better, more restful nights sleep without being awakened by baby so frequently which makes for a happier morning, right? Plus, as any parent knows, babies do most of their growing while they’re asleep. It not only makes them feel safe and secure but it helps them sleep more soundly and for longer periods of time. That’s why swaddling a new baby is SO important for their well being. Babies spend approximately 40 weeks in the safety and comfort of the womb so it’s only natural that once they’re born, they continue to rely on tighter quarters at least for a little while until they can adjust.
